we tried to keep ourselves busy, so as not to miss daddy too much. it started with swimming lessons on saturday, followed by a big breakfast at mcdonalds!
macdos!
okay, maybe it's not the healthiest, but jack's normally a great eater and really ... pancakes are pancakes. and mcdonald's is *so* much easier than a diner. as tom petty sings, "the waiting is the hardest part." and mickey d's is nothing if not speedy. when we got out of the car and jack espied the golden arches he yelled, "macdos" ... so apparently he's more familiar with this little sliver of americana than mommy had realized. oh well.
after a trip to the cable company to exchange a broken box ... we headed to nana and grandad's for a healthier lunch and some playtime.
yummy - tuna fish and apples!
jack hasn't been out to their house in quite a long time. and while they have the basics -- like a high chair and pack-n-play -- they don't necessarily have a lot of toys.
no matter ... jack found some and entertained himself and all of us:
ride 'em cowboy
you can't see me ... oh ... wait ....
here bunny, bunny, bunny ...
where's jack??
gimme five, granddude!
who needs the pack-n-play ... i could just nap here ... if i napped!
have you got my stop-loss order?
there are fun toys outside, too!
whew, so much to do in o-town. i'm ready for a car nap!
and a car nap he took ... all the way home to jack's house (and we went the long way home), whereupon we played at the park, ate a ton of spaghetti, had tubby time and went to bed.
sunday featured a drop-in visit to mommy-baby yoga class (although jack was more interested in pushing toy trucks than pushing into downward dog), a visit to our house by nana, and lots more park time.
all in all a good and full weekend ... but we're ready for next weekend at home with daddy!
